Clickboom Boomfest

I’m afraid this is going to be a reviewless weekend. Instead of engaging in my favorite pastime, talking about zombie themed books and movies, I’ll be engaged in my second favorite hobby, playing video games, but for good reason. This weekend is the first annual Clickboom Boomfest, a charity event organized in the hopes of raising money for Child’s Play. No, not the Brad Dourif killer doll film, Child’s Play is a charity that donates video game systems and the games that go with them to children’s hospitals and domestic abuse shelters. It’s a sad enough situation for a child, not to mention difficult, but it can be made worse without the simple distraction a video game can provide. We hope to help Child’s Play provide that distraction. We’ll be playing video games and board games all weekend, up until noon on Sunday, with people able to donate and give us directions as to what they’d like us to do within the chosen game. So if you donate, you become the player and we’ll just be your hands (that came out slightly creepier than I meant). They’ll also be a swear jar, so if you can frustrate us enough to swear, we owe money. All donations, including the swear jar, go straight towards Child’s Play. We’re hoping to raise one thousand dollars in the end, with the swear jar simply being a bonus. Your favorite zombie will be taking the helm of the zombie slaughterhouse Left for Dead tonight from 2AM CST to 6AM CST. If you’re bored and want to watch a zombie cry as he pretend mows down his brethren, this would be the time to do that. Help us give a bit of hope to kids dealing with what can seem like hopeless situations. I’ll leave info and links below.

About The Undead Review

When I was alive I was an asshole and after I died remained pretty much the same, if not a little worse. You’d think becoming a member of the walking dead would mellow a person out, no more worrying about awkward small talk with people, no more having to be politically correct, and the entire world is your upright, bipedal buffet. Don’t get me wrong, it’s fun as hell to be a zombie, just somewhat irritating at times, especially those times you have to watch a lame movie or read a lame book. Thankfully, when I am forced to watch these films or read those books, I’ve got places like The Undead Review to bitch and moan to my heart’s content. {When he’s not devouring the living or sinking his teeth into a good film The Undead Review (Andy Taylor) spends his time writing his own stories or hunting down the paranormal. Oh, and did we mention his blind dog once saved the world?)
